The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) supports projects and services that help Barnsley residents experiencing financial hardship while also building longer-term resilience and reducing future reliance on crisis support. Funding is available for a range of activities, including community projects, welcoming spaces, food innovation initiatives and good food pantries. We welcome innovative proposals that improve financial wellbeing, strengthen communities and increase access to support and opportunities. Organisations can apply for one or more funding streams where appropriate, with applications currently open for the 2026/27 funding period.

What can be applied for?

Examples may include:

  • projects that help residents experiencing hardship or improve resilience
  • projects that strengthen community networks and resilience
  • financial literacy, budgeting and money management workshops. This may include the development of tools and resources aimed at increasing residents' financial resilience (for example budgeting planners, savings tools, financial wellbeing guides, etc.).

This is not an exhaustive list. We welcome innovative proposals and would be pleased to consider ideas that are not listed above where they support the aims of the Crisis and Resilience Fund.

Funding requests should not include fuel support, clothing or hygiene products. Organisations wishing to access these forms of support should register as a Trusted Partner using the Trusted Partner Schemes section of this application.
