At Barnsley CVS we host quarterly engagement events for professionals where you can network and become part of the VCSE community in Barnsley. They bring all our VCSE partners together with a focus on a specific issue. We are currently developing our training provision, so keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Barnsley CVS, in collaboration with the Public Health team at Barnsley Council are hosting a consultation about Health on the High Street.
If your organisation works in health or prevention, we want to hear from you. The consultation will lay out the vision for Health on the High Street, give VCSE members the opportunity to discuss how they could see themselves being involved and finally what facilities they would need to achieve this.
The consultation is being held on the 11th February, from 1pm-3.30pm at Redfearns Sport and Social Ground.
We want to ensure as many organisations can attend to share their views and ideas; therefore, we are limiting tickets to 2 people per organisation.

In this session we'll be focussing on cohesion in communities with new migrants and how this can be managed positively for the benefit of all living in the local area.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify:

Ø Barriers and challenges to cohesion in communities with new migrants
Ø Practical ways to facilitate cohesion in Barnsley

The impact of stigma and societal pressures on men’s mental health is unfortunately widely known.
This course reviews the impact of these stressors surrounding men’s mental health and what it means to be a man along with building the confidence and skills to offer support to someone who may be struggling with their mental health.

This session is designed to ensure delegates have an understanding of what stress is, how stress can impact on our wellbeing along with providing an understanding and de-mystifying any myths surrounding what it means to be resilient.
This session provides provide the skills both to support those around us along with providing a ‘toolbox’ of skills and strategies to both recognise and manage stress alongside building resilience for the delegates themselves.
Attendees will be able to take away and continuously implement these tools into their day to day lives providing a lasting impact from the course.
