At Barnsley CVS we host quarterly engagement events for professionals where you can network and become part of the VCSE community in Barnsley. They bring all our VCSE partners together with a focus on a specific issue. We are currently developing our training provision, so keep your eyes peeled for updates.

At Barnsley CVS we are expanding and we have a lot of new staff. We are getting out into the community to see how we can support the brilliant voluntary and community organisations. Come and chat with us over some coffee and cake.

How to book: There’s no need to book, just turn up and we’ll do our best to answer your queries.
Parking is limited but there is more parking available across the road.
If your organisation has an annual income of under 100k and is needing support we would love you to come and chat with us. Some of the different topics we can help you with are:

Aim:
To train your nominated staff how the Pristine Principles can reduce the pressure placed on the body during tasks in the workplace and home simply by applying the correct manual handling techniques.
Objectives:
1. The Problem - delegates to recognise the long-standing problems associated with Manual Handling within their working environment.
2. The Solution - delegates will gain a basic understanding of how the body works in relation to the excessive pressure that is applied to the lower back. Dispelling the long-standing myths and fallacies associated with manual handling technique and replacing these with the anatomically correct Pristine Condition Principles that were born from the science of Olympic weightlifting. Introduce the Jam Doughnut analogy and how to reduce or eliminate Slips, Trips and Falls from the workplace.
The training only costs £5.
The training is up to 3 hours. There are two training sessions available: 9.30am-12.30pm or 1pm-4pm. Please specify which one you are booking onto.

This course reviews the impact of these stressors surrounding men’s mental health and what it means to be a man along with building the confidence and skills to offer support to someone who may be struggling with their mental health.
