Barnsley CVS host the VCSE Strategy Group, and the sub-groups. The VCSE Strategy group brings together representatives from the voluntary and community sector, each with a mandate to represent a significant section of the sector. Please see the visual above.

The sub-groups:

• Start Well is for organisations working with Children and Young People.
• Live Well is for organisations working with all ages between 18-50.
• Age Well is for organisations working with over 50s.

Each sub-group has its own terms of reference and is led by the members. Representatives from all VCSE organisations can attend the sub-group meetings. Each meeting has speakers on new initiatives, updates on funding and safeguarding and time to talk about the issues that are affecting their organisations and work.

A newsletter is produced from every meeting so that VCSE groups that cannot attend meetings, still receive all the information and can feed in.

They each have meetings around every 6 weeks. 

Statutory and VCSE organisations attend the first part and then the second part is for VCSE organisations only. 

All of the groups are keen to have as many key partners as possible involved and attending the meetings, to ensure the VCSE sector in Barnsley is collaborating.
