Volunteering roles in the gallery can be varied and involve using or developing skills such as DIY, online research or social media.
Some exhibitions or events need extra hands-on support. Help may be needed to install a new exhibitions (unpacking/cleaning artworks, hanging picture frames, painting walls). There may be an opportunity to help research a particular subject area for a future exhibition, create exciting social media content or write about an event.
We are happy to create opportunities based around your interests, skills, any aspirations you may have or skills you wish to develop.

Recruitment process: If you register interested in a volunteering role at The Civic, we will send you a short application form, in which you can tell us a little about yourself, your interests and any skills you may have or wish to develop.
We will then contact and/or arrange an informal interview with you and discuss which volunteering opportunities would be best suited to you.

• A passion for or willingness to learn about the arts
• Excellent communication skills
• A willingness to learn or develop basic practical skills, such as using power tools
• Experience or an interest in marketing or social media
• Experience in creative writing
• A team player with a pro-active approach
