Member of Board of Directors

This voluntary role is to serve as a member of the Board of Directors which is responsible for the strategy, policies and other key decisions of the credit union. Our current Board of Directors has vacancies for people who can offer relevant experience, not necessarily in financial organisations.
We are looking an enthusiastic person who is passionate about credit unions and who can commit to the role of a Director. You would need to attend a monthly Board meeting at Mexborough (or attend virtually if not practical) and other activities from time to time including training and strategy development.
Travel expenses are payable.

Days required: Mon PM, Mon EVE, Tues PM, Tues EVE, Weds PM, Thur PM, Fri PM, Sat AM, Sat PM

Skills and quaifications:

Skills: Decision making, analytical
Experience: Serving on decision making bodies, councils, governing bodies etc. Working or volunteering in mutual organisations, co-operatives or social enterprises. Experience of any of the type of activity indicated in this advert, e.g. administration, business and management, community work, finance work, trusteeship.
Knowledge and Attitude: Understands and empathises with the philosophy of credit unions and the need to make fair and objective decisions.
Commitment: Prepared to commit sufficient time to the task, commitment to equal opportunities and a willingness to undergo training relevant to the role.
Qualifications: None specific but good literacy and numeracy skills are required.
