Our Place (Barnsley) provides support to adults with learning disabilities.
We operate drop in sessions three days per week, including Saturday’s, where people can come and meet their friends.
We have various activities available such as arts and crafts, quizzes, bingo, karaoke and much more!

Do you enjoy knitting in your spare time? Do you have some odd bits of wool to use up but not sure what to do with them? Would you like to make a difference AND get to do some knitting while you are doing it? Then this role could be for you!

Our Place are about to undertake a project within the service to help homeless and elderly people within the local community, by knitting blankets for the winter. We are only a small group so need recruit more knitters to help us achieve this!

We are looking for knitters that can help create some of these blankets for the project for us.
You can do this role from home, in your own time and we may include a monthly social meet up, to check how everyone is going. All the blankets made will make a huge difference to the homeless and elderly this winter.

Skills and quaifications:

All we need is your knitting skills, needles, wool and time and creativity to make a lovely blanket for the community.

No formal qualifications are required.

Ideally you would have your own equipment, but if you’re interested and you don’t, then please still get in touch as we might have some spare wool and knitting needles we can provide you.
