Volunteer Steering Group Members
Hosted by: Our Place (Barnsley)

Our Place (Barnsley) provides support to adults with learning disabilities.
We operate drop in sessions three days per week, including Saturday’s, where people can come and meet their friends.

Our Place (Barnsley) came into existence in July 2018 after the provision had previously been provided by a leading charity. In May 2018 the provider made the decision that the service was no longer financially viable, so out of a passion not to let the service users down, it was decided to carry on the service under a new organisation. We have two members of staff who have over 3 years’ experience each of working to support adults with learning disabilities.

However, we are now looking to expand the service and are wanting to create a small steering group that can help shape the service.

The role would be totally flexible and could be conducted from home. It may only be a once a month commitment, depending what you could offer.
